Leading communications and public affairs firm has an immediate opening for a full time, paid Digital Media intern to support the digital division for a 70 person office in Washington, DC. Working directly with communications professionals at all levels the selected candidate will assist in providing counsel and executing campaigns for global corporations, smaller public and private companies, governments, non-profits, and high-profile individuals.

Internship Responsibilities

· Demonstrate ability to drive work forward while prioritizing and effectively managing multiple initiatives, multiple constituencies, and diverse personalities under strict deadlines.

· Apply a creative and analytical mind with the ability to think strategically and see the overall picture, even when working on just a portion of it.

· Independently organize and perform research—and to develop an organized system for research maintenance.

· Publish content and manage traffic on a variety of social media platforms, with specific detail given to tracking high-profile and industry-related social media profiles.

· Curate and schedule content for company websites.

· Assist the Digital leadership team with both creative and technical writing and editing.

· Audit websites and execute cross-platform testing of new website launches.

· Aggregate statistics from a variety of digital advertising platforms, including Google AdWords, Google Advertising Network, Facebook and Twitter.

Selection Criteria

The ideal candidate must have exceptional interpersonal skills, the ability to learn quickly, multi task and work well as a part of an extremely smart and aggressive team. Basic knowledge of Social Media Management tracking tools and Adobe Creative Cloud suite applications is preferred. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, or MySQL is a plus. BA, BS in Communications, Public Relations, Public Affairs, or related field with a 3.0 or greater overall GPA desired.

Chris Wayne and Associates - Event Intern

Event-based communications firm, Chris Wayne and Associates (CWA), is seeking an energetic, and self-motivated Events Intern for the fall semester. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in event management and communications. This person will develop skills in all aspects of event logistics, as he or she will participate in the various stages of event planning and management, from conception to execution. This opportunity is perfect for students who excel in a fast-paced team environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the planning and implementation of all CWA events for the fall semester, including on-site help for events in the D.C. area (2-3 per semester)
• Manage the day-of volunteer outreach program for all fall events, including but not limited to:
- Recruit and maintain correspondence with volunteers leading up to each event
- Oversee 20+ volunteers on-site with various onsite logistics
- Follow up with volunteers after events through surveys and social media
- Update volunteer records
• Work closely with vendors and company partners in planning details
• Research and compile data for possible venues and vendors for upcoming events
• Other office administrative tasks, as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications:

This internship is open to current undergraduate students or recent college graduates; majoring in event management, communications, or other related fields. Applicants must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be highly organized, and maintain a strong and positive work ethic. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is required. A flexible schedule is also required on event days.

Internship Details:

The office is located in the heart of Georgetown. The Events Intern is required to spend a minimum of 20 hours per week assisting the CWA team. However, a flexible schedule is required around the time of events as longer hours may be required. This is an unpaid internship, however college credit is available.
